To request an account, ask an autoconfirmed user on IRC (such as one of these permanent autoconfirmed members) or send an e-mail to admin@wiki.whatwg.org with your desired username and an explanation of the first edit you'd like to make. Request Identifier Tracing

Assigning an identifier to a resource request is standard practice with many web servers. Using this value, all messages and log entries generated during processing of the request can be accumulated for diagnostic purposes. Time stamps, while also used for log entries, may not be useable in high-volume situations when not all clocks are properly synchronized.

Including the request identifier inside a HTML page allows developer tools to associate log entries with a specific page view, and may be valuable for after-the-fact diagnosis purposes.

Meta Data Extension

A metadata entry with keyword rqid will store the request identifier in its content attribute.

Identifier Format

A request identifier should be composed from printable characters of the ASCII charset.
